The BBS database (Bossche Burgerlijke Stand; ‘s-Hertogenbosch Register/Records Office) contains an
automated register on the birth, marriage and death certificates from 1811-1932. It concerns birth, death and
marriage certificates from 's-Hertogenbosch, Rosmalen, Empel, Engelen and Bokhoven.
The total number of certificates is approximately 276.000. The database originates from a co-operation project
between the Public Library and the 's-Hertogenbosch City Archives.

This database has recently been updated and made applicable via the internet.
After searching for a person’s name the certificate of birth, marriage or death in question can simply be
displayed and, if necessary, be downloaded for free. Other digital sources can also be consulted via the
's-Hertogenbosch City Archives website (www.stadsarchief.nl).
